Project Goals

To create an editable lead magnet PDF for Precision Proofread’s email list goals.

Project Design Overview

Emma wanted to launch a PDF that was to serve as a lead magnet for her to start her email list. We designed something that was on-brand and laid out clearly the 30 pages of content. Read my individual notes on each part of the design process below 👇

Client Industry and Content

“I proofread people’s writing for errors and inconsistencies in spelling, punctuation, grammar, and word usage, to help their writing be as clean and high quality as possible. ” To visually represent this, I incorporated a lot of bookish line art and elements that tied into the content and analogies given in the booklet.

Client Vision

The Client’s goal for this project was to have something approachable, engaging, and something that will help her audience better understand the information communicated through her expertise.

The first step of my PDF design process is to create a Project Direction Board. This allows the client and I to communicate about layout and element options as well as allows me to confirm preferred styles of branding fonts and colors.

I supplemented the photos and elements I was given by Emma, in the end providing about 50-60% of the shown photography and elements. I based the element choices off the brand style as well as featuring items mentioned in the text and accent photos.

I was able to take the finished PDF design and turn it into an editable file so that Emma could continue to use the layout and design even as she finished final edits on the text of the booklet.

Results

“She’s great with helping you define your big-picture vision and then making it practically applicable and visible in your business.”

My favorite part was opening each new design proof and getting to see it all come together (and seeing surprise little elements that she put in on her own initiative that made the PDF pop with more character.)

It was great to have someone with fresh eyes and creative vision on the project, and she did a lovely job designing the PDF in a way that reflects my business brand and is streamlined and aesthetically pleasing. She’s flexible, creative, great at helping me figure out what I want, and all around pleasant to work with.”
